For this Hackathon, we will release a set of problem statements on 10/9/2017 from which you can select one that best aligns with your team’s interests and capabilities.

The LexisNexis mentors assigned to each student team will also be announced on 10/11/2017.

Hackathon pre-work kickoff

The teams (internal LexisNexis employees and student teams) can begin pre-work for the hackathon from 10/9 onwards, once the problem statements are made available.

An email will be sent out to each student team by the assigned LexisNexis coaches.

For Students particpating in the Hackathon...

The approach you take is your own, and with the guidance of a mentor who will be assigned to your team, the goal is for you to come up with a solution that shows your ingenuity and technical skill.

Once the set of problem statements are unveiled on October 9, please contact your mentor by October 10th with the Problem Statement you have selected.

The LexisNexis coach's primary tasks would be to guide the teams with –
- Help in the design process of the proposed solution by the students
- Answer technology questions and provide design suggestions
- Answer questions regarding their respective products, emphasize on the underlying problem and provide real case scenarios and help students appreciate the problem statement better
- If time permits, help with the coding and UX design if required

Working model for the student teams

The students and the LexisNexis mentor in each team will start communicating with each other after the official kickoff on 10/9.
The communication could involve communication via emails, meet ups in a library, conference calls etc.
The pre-work could include brainstorming sessions, design sessions, plan of action, and eventually coding too.
The main days of the event on 10/13-10/14 will provide the teams an ideal environment for a typical hackathon to meet the entire team in person, provide a setting to code in unison and offer an incubated atmosphere with food, internet etc. where the teams can make the final big push to get their hackathon idea become a success!

Main event

The main on-campus event will kickoff on 10/13, 9.30 am. Please refer the Itinerary section for more information.
The room will have individual working areas assigned to each team to code, discuss and collaborate.
